Tutoring Services
Overview
Heather provides a specialist support and and one on one tutoring service for those with a Specific Learning difficulty (SLD) or Dyslexia in an educational or workplace setting or at her Hamilton studio. Heather uses a wide range of techniques, tailoring tutoring to the individual and focusing on reading, writing, spelling, maths and keyboard skills.
Clients vary widely in their needs, from those requiring only a small amount of remediation to those with full blown Dyslexia and can also include those in the Dyspraxia, Dysgraphia, Autism spectrum, ADHD, and ADD students.
Primary School Students 8-12yrs
- One-on-one tutoring tailored to the student
- Weekly 1hr sessions can be based at either Heather’s studio or at your child’s school, with flexible hours to suit your busy schedule
- Outcomes are generally improved overall learning ability, increased enjoyment of school classes, improvement in National Standard ratings, and improved sociability and confidence
- A typical student benefits most effectively from 12-20 weeks of tutoring
Secondary School Students 13-18yrs
- One-on-one tutoring tailored to the student
- Weekly 1hr sessions can be based at either Heather’s studio or at your child’s school, with flexible hours to suit your busy schedule
- Outcomes are generally improved overall learning ability, increased enjoyment of classes and lifting of NCEA exam results and test scores
- A typical student benefits most effectively from 12-20 weeks of tutoring
Adults 18yrs+
- Personalised tutoring and coaching service
- Weekly sessions can be based at either Heather’s studio or at the workplace should tutoring be sponsored by an employer
- Outcomes are generally improved confidence, overall lifting of reading, writing, numeracy and comprehension skills.
- Clients generally benefit most effectively from a minimum of 8 weeks of one-on-one tutoring
